Many people think of metal metal surface finishing treatment when they think of metal metal surface finishing finishing treatment. This is a common misconception. Plastics, in fact, can have their surfaces treated as well.

metal surface finishing treatment of plastic is the process of forming a surface layer on the  of the material that has one or more special properties, either through physical or chemical means. It has the potential to enhance the performance of products in terms of appearance, texture, function, and other aspects.

What are the surface treatment processes for plastics, and how do they work?

Among the many common plastic surface treatment methods are electroplating and painting, which are the two most widely used methods in industry. An in-depth explanation of the plastic  treatment process is provided in the following sections:

1. Frosting a cake

Frosted plastic is a term that refers to a plastic film or sheet in general. A frost pattern is formed on the  of the sheet extruder's forming roller during the extrusion process, and the frost pattern is formed naturally during the cooling of the plastic sheet. This method is straightforward and quick, and it produces superior results, particularly for transparent products.

2. The process of polishing

Use mechanical, chemical, or electrochemical effects to reduce the  roughness of the workpiece in order to achieve a bright and smooth metal surface finishing on the finished product. Plastic products are typically polished with rolled-up sandpaper before being sprayed, which is usually the first step in the process.

3. Using a spray gun

Plastic spraying is primarily used to coat plastic products with a layer of plastic paint before performing a drying operation, which takes approximately 10 minutes. Spray paint will seal off the air, and it can also be used to prevent plastic products from aging. The most important thing is to achieve an appearance effect that the plastic product itself does not have by using spray paint.

4. Silk screen printing is another option.

The screen printing stencil is typically square in shape and has a fine mesh pattern on the . Under the pressure of the squeegee, the ink on the screen printing stencil is forced through the through hole of the stencil  and onto the substrate during the printing process. When PC uses this type of  treatment, the result is extremely favorable.

5. Pad printing is the fifth method.

First, etch the designed pattern onto the printing plate, then coat the etched plate with ink, and finally transfer the majority of the ink to the printed object through the silicone head, as shown below.

6. Thermoelectric transfer

The pattern is printed on the surface of the transfer film in advance, and the pattern on the transfer film is transferred to the  of the product by using a thermal transfer machine to process it once (heating and pressing). Following the molding process, the ink layer and the product's surface are integrated, resulting in a realistic and beautiful final product. This has a significant impact on the overall quality of the product.

7. The transfer of water

In this type of printing, water pressure is used to hydrolyze transfer paper/plastic film with color patterns, which is then printed on.
